Wynn's Restaurant is a cute little country diner set on Main Street in downtown Front Royal. They serve egg platters, omelets, hot cakes, waffles, muffins, bagels, salads, hot/cold sandwiches & subs, dinner entrees, kid options, and desserts (such as homemade pies). The hubs and I came here for a quick breakfast, and we were able to choose any of the booths to sit. I tried their Hot Cakes with a choice of meat (I opted for bacon); these hot cakes were large, came as 2, and was nice and fluffy; little tiny tubs of Country Crock butter came with as well as a bottle of syrup. The bacon, while cooked perfectly, had a slight taste of old oil. The hubs had 2 Eggs Any Style with Corn Beef Hash; it was interesting to see the eggs and the corn beef hash being shaped (I think they may use a cookie cutter (?)) - this also came with a side of homefries (nice and crispy) and a choice of buttered toast. Service was super friendly and sweet, and this place seemed to be favorite of the locals. I'd love to come back and try out some of their dinner options, such as the Wing Dings, Tater Crust (White Fish), and the Chuckwagon Steak. +crispy homefries +Hot Cakes +friendly service :D

Pros: -Down homey atmosphere, comfortable and quiet -Location is convenient -Clean (which is a big thing in Front Royal) -Food is acceptable Cons: -Price (if not ordering the special) is pricey -Service, waitress was slow to take order and refresh coffee, busboy was up and down isles constantly -No newspapers to read, although they are for sale, but seriously? Most places have papers. - NO PARKING!!!! There is public parking behind the restaurant, but the lot directly behind the restaurant belongs to the apartment building it is in front of. YOU WILL BE TOWED!!! Although some of the tenants are cool and will ask you to move your vehicle. Synopsis: Ordered Biscuits and Gravy, home fries along with a couple of eggs plus coffee. Now mind you this is all not part of the special and ended up paying 12 dollars. That's 2 biscuits, gravy and two eggs, that is way too much, for the quality of what I received. Biscuits were generic, gravy was bland, and the eggs had a strange "sulfur" odor to them. The eggs did not taste funny, but that smell was just "off". I told them not to worry about the toast, as I was expecting a lot of food. But had I known what I was going to receive, I would not have turned down the toast. I figured I would be getting a King's feast for the price I was paying, buts sadly this was not the case. I did not leave hungry, but I was not full. I expected to be taking something home for the price I paid. The staff was slow to respond, despite the fact the place was far from packed. When I did get my meal, the waitress (who up to this point had not once asked to freshen my coffee) would not stop bugging me about my coffee. It was like every couple of minutes. I eventually told her I was good, I did not want anymore coffee, Coffee was hot, but nothing special, although the refills were free, I don't think I could stomach more than a few cups. Also does a place this small really need a busboy/dishwasher? I didn't really did not like how she would go up and down the restaurant every 10 minutes pushing the same cart full of the same dirty dishes. I mean is she washing them anytime soon? This is my second time eating here for breakfast (I give places 2nd chances) but I will not be returning, I work to hard for my money to give it such a place with overpriced/bland food, mediocre service, and lack of amenities. Like previous reviews have stated :"its a blast from the past", while this is true I believe some things should stay in the past and Wynn's is one of them.

Excellent daily specials about $5.50. Delicious hot food. This place gets 5 stars for a small town dinner. Good food for a very reasonable price in a clean place.

Time to jump into the "wayback machine" and enjoy a real honest-to-goodness diner fresh from the 1960s. This is not some knock off or recreation: this is the real McCoy. The food is diner-esque as were the booths, chairs and floors. If you want an authentic experience of a dying American diner: come here, eat and enjoy.
